Security Solutions


  • Prying eyes are trying to get a look at your data. Make sure they can’t by encrypting where necessary.

  • A specific key is first used to encrypt the data. Then the data is unlocked using either the same key (symmetric-key) or using a matching key-pair (public-key).

  • “In Transit” encryption keeps personally identifiable data and proprietary information safe when sent.

  • Keep files stored on mobile devices like laptops and tablets protected with “at rest” encryption.

Multi-Factor Authentication

  • Users are not granted access until they provide multiple proofs of identity.

  • Ex. – An ATM asks for two proofs before dispensing money. First the physical card (possession) and then the PIN (information). Without either proof authentication fails.

  • Without one of the factors a user is unable to access the data, protecting from both accidental access and unauthorized access.

Microsoft Active Directory

  • One of the most difficult aspects of building a network is finding a way to make sure people are able to access the information they need. Too much access leads to chaos, not enough hinders progress.

  • In order to access information on a network people have to have the correct authorizations. That way people have access to the resources they need, and only what they need.

  • First Service will configure the Active Directory with a hierarchy of access permissions. Easily add or remove permissions as people transition from one position to another.
